Studio Casa Perla becomes Galería Las Tunas
Studio Casa Perla is becoming Galería Las Tunas—a new chapter for Nancy Joyce and contemporary art in Todos Santos, with original paintings, commissions and a carefully curated collection inspired by the beauty of Baja California Sur.
Studio Casa Perla began as a place to paint, experiment, teach and share art in 2019. Over the years, it has welcomed collectors, visitors, students and friends through its doors—and somewhere along the way, the paintings began to grow.
Quite literally.
Larger canvases began filling the walls. Commissions became more ambitious. My own work continued to evolve, increasingly inspired by the extraordinary light, color and open landscapes of Baja California Sur.
And as the paintings grew, the vision grew with them.
This season marks a new chapter: Studio Casa Perla becomes Galería Las Tunas.
The new Galería reflects a more focused direction for my work, with an emphasis on large-scale original paintings, commissioned pieces and artwork created for distinctive homes and spaces. It also allows something I have wanted to explore for some time—the opportunity to thoughtfully introduce the work of a small number of invited artists.
Galeria Las Tunas will remain intentionally curated. Alongside my own paintings, selected works will share a connection to nature and a sense of place, with particular inspiration drawn from the ocean, desert, flora, wildlife and the remarkable atmosphere of Baja.
A New Name, With a Familiar Spirit
While the name is changing, the spirit of Studio Casa Perla isn’t disappearing.
The joy of gathering around a table, picking up mark making tools and paint for the pleasure of discovering what happens when we give ourselves permission to simply create, without judgement or perfection, remains very close to my heart.
Our fun and popular two-hour Abstract Art experience will continue this winter, with Sunday classes at the Studio. No previous painting experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to play.
If you’re visiting Todos Santos this season and would like to spend a couple of creative hours painting with me, I would love to welcome you.

As Galeria Las Tunas begins this new chapter, I look forward to sharing new paintings, visiting artists, special gatherings and the continued evolution of this little place devoted to expressive art.
You are warmly invited to come in, look around and experience the work in person.
