Art Inspired by the Spirit of Baja

Artist | Visionary | Seeker of Hidden Dimensions
I’m a contemporary artist living and working in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. My work invites you to step beyond the ordinary and glimpse worlds not easily seen—realities that shimmer just beneath the surface of perception.
I create original paintings, primarily large-scale abstract landscapes inspired by beauty, the natural world, expansive skies, desert and ocean.
Working with acrylics, oils and cold wax, my technique explores color, atmosphere and texture. I allow layers, movement, mark making and transparency to emerge organically through the painting process.
What I love most is when someone encounters a painting and feels something before they even begin to analyze it.
I welcomes opportunities for commission work, and to collaborate with interior designers, architects and developers seeking distinctive original artwork for thoughtfully designed spaces.
I’m now opening Galería Las Tunas, a contemporary art gallery in Todos Santos that will present my work alongside a carefully curated selection of invited artists whose practices reflect a meaningful connection with nature and beauty.

My relationship with art began long before I rediscovered painting in 2019. I painted and especially loved drawing throughout my childhood, studied fine art in Canada, and spent 18 years working as a digital artist in advertising agencies and design firms. That career gave me a strong foundation in visual communication, concept development and bringing creative ideas to life.
Then, in 2003, my life took an unexpected turn. I was diagnosed with macular degeneration in both eyes. Three ophthalmologists told me I was going blind, that I would need a white cane, and that there was nothing they could do for me.
For someone whose life had always been connected to seeing, creating and working visually, those words were very challenging. I whole heartedly refused their diagnosis, and began to look for ways to heal my condition.
I furthered my studies in nutrition, Qigong, and eventually became an acupuncturist of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Over time, my vision improved significantly, and by 2014, much of it had returned. I still experience some visual limitations today, but my relationship with seeing and creating has changed profoundly.
That experience became an important turning point in my life. It deepened my appreciation for perception, resilience and the extraordinary complexity of how we experience life. In 2016 I moved to Mexico full time, ready for a new adventure.
I returned to painting with a renewed sense of freedom. I became less interested in simply representing what was in front of me and more interested in exploring what I felt, sensed and imagined.
Today, my work is deeply self-expressive. I allow each painting to evolve through layers, color, movement and intuition. Sometimes a landscape emerges; at other times, the work moves toward abstraction. I’m interested in the space where the recognizable and the unknown meet.
My paintings invite people to see beyond what is, into what could be and explore the unknown, through a lens of infinite possibility.
