Art for Exceptional Spaces

Original artwork created for exceptional spaces in Baja California Sur. Nancy Joyce collaborates with interior designers, architects and developers on large-scale paintings, commissions and multi-piece collections tailored to the architecture, palette and atmosphere of each project.

Original Art for Interior Design & Architecture

Galería Las Tunas collaborates with interior designers, architects, developers and hospitality professionals to source and create original artwork for distinctive spaces. We work with projects throughout Todos Santos, Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and Baja California Sur.

A project may begin with a single large-scale statement painting or a coordinated collection for several spaces. Designers can select from available works or commission original artwork in response to the architecture, materials, palette and atmosphere.

Projects may include private residences, boutique hotels, wellness environments, developments and thoughtfully designed commercial spaces.

An Artist with a Design Background

Art has been part of my life since childhood. I painted and created throughout my school years. Eventually, I chose a professional career that allowed me to combine art, design and visual communication.

Before returning to painting full-time, I spent many years working as a digital artist in advertising and production. During that time, I collaborated with large design firms and advertising agencies. That experience continues to influence the way I approach commissioned artwork today.

I understand that a successful design project requires more than a beautiful finished piece. It requires listening carefully to the client’s vision and developing ideas in response to a brief. Just as importantly, it means presenting concepts clearly and following through professionally from initial conversation to completion.

My background allows me to work comfortably with designers, architects and project teams. Together, we can explore architectural drawings, photographs, material samples and color palettes. We also consider the overall feeling you want the space to create.

For larger projects, I am equally comfortable planning and managing multiple paintings as a cohesive collection.

The objective is not simply to match artwork to a room. Instead, I create original work that feels as though it belongs there. The artwork complements the architecture while bringing another layer of depth, movement and character to the space.

The Process

Consultation

We begin with the space, aesthetic direction, timeline and needs of the project. Architectural plans, renderings, photographs, palettes and material references can all become part of the conversation.

Curation & Creative Direction

We can source existing artwork from Galería Las Tunas or develop a custom direction specifically for your project. For commissions, initial concepts help establish scale, composition, palette and overall feeling before I begin painting.

Scale & Placement

Together, we consider dimensions, orientation and placement in relation to the architecture and furnishings. We also look at surrounding materials and sightlines throughout the space.

Commission

Once we agree on the direction and scope, a 50% deposit confirms the commission. Then the painting process begins.

In Progress

I share images at two key stages so the designer or project team can follow the development of the work. At the same time, I leave room for spontaneity and preserve the integrity of the painting process.

Completion & Delivery

I typically complete commissioned paintings within approximately 6–8 weeks. Once the work is complete, we coordinate final payment, delivery and any project-specific arrangements.

Begin a Project

Whether you are sourcing one original painting or developing artwork for an entire property, I welcome the opportunity to collaborate early in the design process.
